I enjoy the light and delicate flavors in summer but in fall and winter I prefer the dark and robust flavors. These last two of the dark were incredibly and I must say exceptionally flavorful! we have begun using maple syrup in many of the dishes that we cook, and in a lot of our sauces; the cookbook was delight ! Love you maple farmers!

For the couple who took care of our home while we were in Vermont. They were thrilled to try each one sand to find their favorite.
My wife and I had a great time tasting the range of syrups included in our sampler: “Golden & Delicious” (x1), “Amber & Rich” (x2), “Dark & Robust “(x2), and “Very Dark & Strong” (x1). You get a much better appreciation for the different tasting profiles when you can taste them side by side. We really liked how everything was included in our kit, from the “tasting notes cards” to the little tasting cups. The tasting guide was helpful guiding us through the tasting process (there can be more to this than you might think), and it was a lot of fun comparing our tasting card notes afterwards. We’d always assumed that we both liked the darker, more flavorful versions, and that is certainly still the case for me, but my wife actually preferred some of the lighter ones. Guess we’ll just have to start buying two kinds! Finally, we support local, small businesses whenever we can (it’s one of the things that first attracted us to Maple Farmers), so we definitely appreciate that each sample was labelled with the individual farm it came from. All said, the Six-Pack Syrup Sampler is as informative and enjoyable as it is tasty. It would make a fantastic gift!

I'm so glad I found this site. I much prefer strong-tasking maple syrup, so I've always purchased Grade A Dark (formerly Grade B).
Then I discovered this site and that there was a grade even more intense, Very Dark & Strong (formerly Grade C). I immediately ordered a quart.
It became an instant favorite. I'm frankly astonished that it wasn't available for retail purchase before 2015. How can anyone not love this?
I have bought from a different Vermont syrup maker and have enjoyed their product a lot. However, I was put off by their plastic storage bottles from the last time I ordered it. When I found Maple Farmers' blog about the benefits of glass bottles, I decided to give them a try.
I like the "random" selection process Maple Farmers uses to pick which farm's product they ship. If you find a favorite, you can request that specific farm's syrup.
The syrup tastes great! Is it better? That is subjective and I did run out of the other syrup two years ago. I have a cousin who taps his maple trees in southern Ohio and makes syrup for friends and family. It also tastes good, but I can tell the difference. The bottle I recently opened tastes better.
FYI - I bought two quart bottles and it will be interesting to see if they differ. I did notice that their respective amber shades differed a little bit (not a bad thing).
My daughter ordered the sample set and we participated in the online class. We loved both class and the syrup. When I ran out of the sample set I ordered more of the one I liked the best. Wonderful flavor!
