Edmunds Maple Hill Farm sits on a hillside above a quiet dirt road in Barnard, Vermont. The herd of cattle grazes peacefully in the green pasture, and the rustic sugarhouse is tucked up in the woods above the house.

Bob Edmunds grew up in a family of maple sugarmakers and he tapped about 2400 trees and boiled with a traditional 5'x14' wood-fired evaporator with no reverse osmosis. Bob attributed his propensity for making light colored syrup to the large sugar maple trees, high elevation of over 1600', and northerly exposure.

Starting in 2026, Bob's daughters have taken over the sugaring operation. It may be a little bit smaller now, but the the syrup is just as delicious. We are excited to continue working with the Edmunds family as the next generation proudly continues their ancestor's maple tradition.
