I'm so glad I found this site. I much prefer strong-tasking maple syrup, so I've always purchased Grade A Dark (formerly Grade B).
Then I discovered this site and that there was a grade even more intense, Very Dark & Strong (formerly Grade C). I immediately ordered a quart.
It became an instant favorite. I'm frankly astonished that it wasn't available for retail purchase before 2015. How can anyone not love this?
I have bought from a different Vermont syrup maker and have enjoyed their product a lot. However, I was put off by their plastic storage bottles from the last time I ordered it. When I found Maple Farmers' blog about the benefits of glass bottles, I decided to give them a try.
I like the "random" selection process Maple Farmers uses to pick which farm's product they ship. If you find a favorite, you can request that specific farm's syrup.
The syrup tastes great! Is it better? That is subjective and I did run out of the other syrup two years ago. I have a cousin who taps his maple trees in southern Ohio and makes syrup for friends and family. It also tastes good, but I can tell the difference. The bottle I recently opened tastes better.
FYI - I bought two quart bottles and it will be interesting to see if they differ. I did notice that their respective amber shades differed a little bit (not a bad thing).
My daughter ordered the sample set and we participated in the online class. We loved both class and the syrup. When I ran out of the sample set I ordered more of the one I liked the best. Wonderful flavor!
I have so enjoyed all of my orders from maple farmers. All a bit different and all so tasty and rich. I am a fan of the dark and complex syrups and these do not disappoint. They hands you for making these available from small farmers!!
This was my second purchase and is wonderful tasting unaltered (real deal) maple syrup,. I use the maple syrup to make homemade granola every week for my kids. The syrup is packaged well for shipping and has quick arrival. This will be my go to, direct small farm! I firmly believe must take care farmers.

I bought the 4 syrup sampler for a young man (19) to taste and determine which type is his favorite. He recently lost his dad to a long battle with cancer and he had told me at the celebration for life for his dad that he enjoyed maple syrup. We haven’t yet had our “taste test” yet but I know he will enjoy your delicious syrup as much as I have. The packaging on this is wonderful. The box it comes in is nice. The bottle and bucket are very clever! I bought several of these and plan to pair them with pancake mix from King Arthur Flour to make great hostess or other gifts. Love it! Thanks for this creative idea.

I received a bottle from a friend. After using it all up I was thrilled to see I could order it on line. Undoubtably the best maple syrup you can buy.
As a kid growing up in VT we all knew the secret that “Fancy Grade” was just a marketing ploy for the tourists. Real Vermonters prefer Grade B, and this is the place to get it. Before I learned about Maple Farmers I was dying in a syrup desert in Colorado with nothing but Canadian crap on the supermarket shelves. (Don’t even mention Mrs. Butterworth’s in my house or you get no waffles.) Nothing else tastes like real Vermont maple syrup. It’s the granite in the soil (or something). It brings me back to pancakes in my mom’s kitchen when I was 6. Best syrup ever! And a great way to support small family farms! Worth every penny.
